Following the purchase of a first CNC lathe with a movable head, the company began to develop its machinery and turned to the specialists at MECMATICA.
To overcome the initial difficulty in scheduling the many internal phases, we have changed the approach in the turning and finishing department management, separating them as two separate companies to obtain management benefits.

How was Promec born?
It is a company born 45 years ago with the name of my father "Franchetto Umberto". Over time we changed our name and became an SRL. Our journey began with traditional CAM lathes, with parallel and automatic lathes in the historic site of Cinisello Balsamo. A workshop of about 200 square meters. We then moved to the current location in Nova Milanese where we chose the first CNC machines for their quality and speed, thanks to which we were able to expand our customer base and boost company growth. The specialty of Promec is still today the experience in the creation of hydraulic parts.
What are the strengths of Promec?
The versatility of processing from raw to finished with all particular hydraulic. We have an excellent internal finishing department with tolerance to millesimal finishes. We are one of the few companies equipped with a furnace for heat treatment. This reduces our working time and therefore the delivery time to the customer. The quality of our work is recognized.
How do you think the market has changed for mechanical SMEs?
Before all times for delivery; from the order to the finished price is required great flexibility and fast feasibility studies of the parts. We have been working with Mecmatica for over three years and I can confirm that it has been of great help in the organization of our production.

Today we have an effective traceability of products in compliance with ISO standards, from the raw material that enters to the finished piece. We have improved machine load management and reduced tooling times: each operator knows what he will need to produce in the next step. This has led to the optimization of our internal procedures, so we can prepare the tools well in advance of the next scheduled machining with Metronomo.
What are your future plans?
We believe in growth and innovation: our goal is the continuous innovation of production, with the aim of reducing inefficiencies and thus making Promec SRL always competitive on the market.
